Description
Brass simulating embroidered cloth. This was a non-regulation insignia sold by period sutlers, catalogs, and military dealers, most commonly used by officers as embroidered badges were expensive and did not hold up well in the field. Although intended for officers, photographs will on occasional show enlisted men also wearing them.
Available in Large, approximately 2-1/2″ wide x 1-5/8″ high (slouch hat) and Small, approximately 1-1/2″ wide x 1″ high (kepi) sizes. Made from stamped brass with soldered brass wire hooks for attaching to hats or other items. Made in the U.S.A.
