The Major General insignia features gold embroidery on a black velvet field with a silver embroidered star and is made with top quality craftsmanship. Comes in Large for slouch hats.
As per Army Regulation 1479, General Officers were to wear a gold-embroidered wreath in front, on black velvet ground, encircling the letters U.S. in silver, old English characters. However, as the war progressed, many general officers commissioned star badges to reflect their rank.
