This is an Original early first type Springfield 45-70 Carbine or rifle Butt Plate. It is the type of butt plate, with the reinforcing rib, that was used on the Custer period carbines and rifles.  It will fit and function perfect on any Springfield 45-70 Trapdoor.

Very good functional Condition with deep clear US marking. This is an original Springfield Model 1873 45-70 Trapdoor Butt Plate. It was designed for the early Model 1873 rifle or carbine. It will also fit all Models including 1873, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1884 Springfield Rifles and Carbines.
