Original M1816 Springfield and Harper’s Ferry Bayonets

Description

This is an original Civil War socket bayonet issued to fit the US Percussion Model 1816 Springfield Muskets and contractors . Blade surfaces exhibit significant oxidation and pitting with an overall gray patina on the metal. Flat of shank is marked with a crisp and clear “U.S.” and 2 inspector’s mark.
