Original M1835-M1842 Springfield and Harper’s Ferry Bayonet in Excellent condition

This is an original Civil War M1835/M1842 socket bayonet for use with the M1835 and M1842 .69cal Muskets. Surfaces exhibits an attractive smooth grey patina with a mix of light staining. Flat of shank is marked with a deep “US” and  an L inspector marks. The socket has an intact and functional locking ring. The overall length is 20 5/8″, Blade Length 18-1/8″ and a socket length of 2 5/8″ and a socket length of 2 5/8″. This is in great untouched condition and would be a great addition to any Civil War collection.
