Original M1842 Springfield and Harper’s Ferry Bayonet in Excellent condition, Very Good US

This is an original Civil War M1842 socket bayonet for use with the M1842 .69cal Muskets. Surfaces exhibit an attractive grey patina with sharp edges and no edge nicks. There is no pitting. Blade is marked “U.S.” The socket has an intact and functional locking ring. The overall length is 20 5/8″, Blade Length 18-1/8″ and a socket length of 2 5/8″. This is in great untouched condition and would be a great addition to any Civil War collection.
