Description
This reprint of range tables by Robert P. Parrott is a republication of one of the rarest of all Civil War Artillery documents. Only two original copies are known to exist, both in the rare book departments of large libraries. Originally drafted on December 18, 1862, it contains some of the best information available on Parrott’s system of rifled artillery; by Robert Parrott himself.
The reprinted text of this rare manual was taken from a copy which was of very poor quality showing much wear and use. The original manual was smaller, measuring 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches. Owing to its poor condition, the copy for this publication was enlarged by 60% in order to remove the water marks and other discolorations. A reproduction of one of the original un-retouched pages is found inside the manual. While performing the retouching, only the discolorations and marks have been removed. The period type is retained in its original form.
Soft Cover, 8.5 by 5.5 inches, 29 pages.
