This is an original Springfield Model 1877 with Steps on the base for elevation Adjustment 45-70 Trapdoor rear sight.

Excellent Condition with deep clear marking. The base is marked with an R for Rifle. The ladder has 11 elevations on the ladder for rifle. The ladder flips up easily and the elevation slide works great This is an original Springfield FIRST  TYPE Model 1877, 45-70 Trapdoor rear sight. It was designed for the rifle or cadet. It will also fit all Models including 1873, 1878, 1879, 1884, 1888 Springfield Rifles and Cadets.
