This sight is also called the Buckhorn rear sight. It was the first Springfield 45-70 rear sight with windage adjustment. It will fit and function perfect on any Springfield 45-70 Trapdoor.

Excellent Condition with clear marking. The ladder and base are marked with an R for Rifle. The ladder flips up easily and the elevation/windage slide works great. This is an original Springfield Model 1878 45-70 Trapdoor rear sight. It was designed for more adjustments to increase accuracy for rifle or cadet. It will also fit all Models including 1873, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1884, 1888 Springfield Rifles and Cadets.
