Description

This sight is also called the Buffington rear sight. It was the first Springfield 45-70 rear sight with a Knob Windage Adjustment. It will fit and function perfect on any Springfield 45-70 Trapdoor. See Picture of the bottom of sight leaf where a relief slot was added. This relief slot does not affect the function of the ladder and can not be seen when the ladder is in the down position.

Fine overall Condition with clear marking. The ladder is marked with an R for Rifle. The ladder flips up easily. The elevation and windage knobs work great. This is an original Springfield Model 1884 45-70 Trapdoor rear sight. It was designed for more adjustments to increase accuracy for rifle or cadet. It will also fit all Models including 1873, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1884, 1888 Springfield Rifles and Cadets. ORI-334 front mounting screw is included with this sight.

This sight uses  (ORI–333 Rear & ORI-334 Front) Screws to mount this sight.

This sight is used with Lower Band (ORI-331)
