Texas Hat Pin, Made in U.S.A.

Description

Our Texas Hat Badge is made of solid brass and is approximately 1-1/4″ by 1-1/4″, with pin-back attachment. After seceding from the United States, Texas was most useful for supplying soldiers to Confederate forces as well as to the Cavalry. During the war Texas was mainly a supply state for the Confederacy until mid-July 1863, when the Union capture of the Mississippi River made large movements of men, horses or cattle impossible. The last battle of the Civil War occurred in Texas at the Battle of Palmito Ranch on May 12-13, 1865.
