Description

Barrel and receiver were produced in early 1875. It is 45-70 caliber and the Receiver is # 45887. The serial # is light but visible to the eye. The barrel has been modified to 23 & 1/2 inches long. There is a hole through the barrel where a front sight was added although is is not currently present. The barrel can be cut to a carbine length of 22 inches and that will eliminate the small hole from the previous front sight. It has an attractive smooth blue black finish. The rear sight mounting screws and tang threads are in excellent condition. There is a flat between the 2 rear sight screws but that will be hidden with a rear sight. The bore is dark in color and has very good rifling. There is no pitting in the bore. This could be used to restore an original Carbine or build a carbine or shooter. It will fit all Models including 1873, 1877, 1878, 1879 & 1884.

ORI-335 is an original Front sight Blade
