This original Model 1868 Receiver # 26132 & Tang has a smooth black patina. The model 1868 Receiver was originally blackened. It will fit and function perfect in any Springfield 50-70. The Barrel and threads are in great condition. If you are planning to build a rifle or repair an existing 50-70 this will work great.
