This original 45-70 Receiver is in good condition with mainly brown black finish. The barrel and tang threads are in fine functional condition. If you are planning to build a rifle or repair an existing 45-70 this will work fine. The serial number is faint. Springfield Receiver Model 1873-1889 45-70 Trapdoor. It will fit all Models including 1873, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1884, 1888 Springfield Carbines, Rifles and Cadets.
